The water activities include drilling of boreholes, construction of water pans, rehabilitation of boreholes, repair of hand pumps and training the community on water facility management and Maintenance for sustainability. This aims to improve the access and quality of water for the community and their livestock. In 2010 the project will construct rock catchment and use of wind pump in boreholes and school Water and sanitation will also be incorporated in addition to these regular activities.

Livestock Care & Management
Turkana project together with the government veterinary department conducts livestock vaccination campaigns in the project area.

LWF/DWS also assists the communities to set up community drug stores and continues to train them on management to increase their capacity until they are able to manage the drugs stores sustainably.This is incorparated with training to community based animal
heath workers who are later supported with equipments to enable them carry out the animal health care services.
