The Turkana project conducts workshops and trainings  that encompass a wide spectrum of member in the Turkana communities. These include: members of the Peace and Security Committee, Adakars (grazing groups), and Village Based Peace Committees. LWF also assists the government  and collaborates with community based organizations to facilitate cross border peace meetings and with Uganda and Sudan.

In this year (2010), the project come up with ways of bettering the community peace situation by engaging leaders from different clans and exploring various means of peaceful co-existence while empowering them for self-independence.
